Ryan Allsop will be a contented man this summer after signing a new two-year contract with Bournemouth.

The 23-year-old made his Premier League debut for the Cherries this season, but spent the second half of the campaign on loan at League Two side Wycombe Wanderers.

Allsop's new deal ties him to Bournemouth until 2018 and the goalkeeper has admitted he is desperate to break into the Cherries' first team.

"I am really pleased to have it sorted," he said.

"It's a weight off my shoulders to get it over the line. I love living in Bournemouth and love the club, so I am delighted to be staying for another two years.

"To make my Premier League debut was massive, but that has just given me a taste of it. I want to play as many games as I can at the top level.

"I have learned loads from Artur Boruc and Adam Federici this season, but I don't want to just make up the numbers. I want to push as hard as I can."

Allsop signed from Leyton Orient two years ago, but has yet to make himself a permanent fixture of the Bournemouth squad with 26 appearances in all competitions.

He made his top-flight bow this term as a half-time substitute for Federici in Bournemouth's 3-3 draw with Everton in November.
