Peterborough v Fleetwood preview
Thursday 26 April 2018 19:35, UK
Peterborough expect to have top scorer Jack Marriott back for their Sky Bet League One clash with Fleetwood.
The striker missed the midweek defeat at Shrewsbury with a foot injury. Posh will also check on the fitness of playmaker Marcus Maddison, who has missed the last four matches with an ankle injury. Defender Ryan Tafazolli seems unlikely to play again this season due to a hamstring issue.
Fleetwood have a fully-fit squad for the trip to the ABAX Stadium. Manager John Sheridan could make changes after last week's 4-0 thrashing by Wigan, for what will be his penultimate match in charge.
Sheridan, brought in on a short-term deal to replace Uwe Rosler in February, will make way for Joey Barton at the end of the season. The defeat by Wigan was just Sheridan's third in 11 games since taking over, with the team now relatively comfortable in mid-table.
Opta stats
The Posh could do a league double over Fleetwood for the first time after winning 3-2 at Highbury in December.
Despite that defeat, Fleetwood have won three of their last four League One matches against Peterborough, scoring exactly two goals in all four games.
Peterborough have lost each of their last four league matches, and have not lost five in a row in league games since March 2016 (run of five).
The Cod Army have won three of their last five league games away from home (L2), but did lost on their most recent away trip to Blackpool, 2-1.
Steve Evans has won both of his previous two home managerial meetings with Fleetwood in all competitions, winning 2-1 in League Two in April 2013 and 1-0 in the League Cup in August 2014, both as Rotherham United boss.
