Halifax win the FA trophy after 1-0 win against Grimbsy

A second-half goal from Scott McManus won the FA Trophy for Halifax, denying Grimsby a second Wembley victory in a week.
The defender's 48th minute goal gave the West Yorkshire team, recently relegated from the Vanarama National League, a 1-0 victory.
It meant Grimsby, who beat Forest Green Rovers in the National League play-off final last Sunday to secure promotion back to the Football League, were unable to complete a memorable double.
After a lucklustre first half, the only goal of the game came in the 48th minute when McManus - later substituted because of injury - curled a 20-yard effort past Mariners goalkeeper James McKeown.
But Town were not to be pegged back as they chased another Wembley victory and finished strongly, nearly nabbing the equaliser when a corner was headed towards goal and causing a panic in the box, but the effort was cleared off the line by the Halifax defence.
Jim Harvey's men kept Grimsby out despite the late pressure to seal the victory, lifting the trophy in front of jubilant fans.
