Morecambe step up interest in out-of-contract midfielder

Macclesfield Town have confirmed receiving a second offer from League Two rivals Morecambe for out-of-contract midfielder Izak Reid. Skysports.com revealed on Wednesday that Morecambe are set to win the race for Reid, who has been offered a new deal by Macclesfield. The Silkmen are not giving up hope of keeping Reid in Gary Simpson's squad, but are aware he will have other options to consider. A previous offer from Morecambe has already been rejected and a fee will be decided by a tribunal if the two clubs fail to agree a deal. Silkmen chairman Mike Rance told the club's official website: "Izak has a two-year deal on the table from Macc and he's very much a part of Gary's plans. "We recognise however that he's out of contract at the end of June and we fully understand that he has options."
