Celtic greats Henrik Larsson and Stiliyan Petrov have paid tribute to this year's team, who completed a treble when they beat Aberdeen in Saturday's Scottish Cup final.

The victory at Hampden capped a remarkable first season at the helm for Brendan Rodgers, as the Bhoys went through the whole domestic season unbeaten.

And the celebrations continued at Celtic Park on Sunday as Henrik's Heroes defeated Lubo's Legends 5-2 in a charity match which had been arranged by the Celtic FC Foundation.

Larsson and Lubomir Moravcik captained the two sides and a crowd of more than 60,000 were on hand to watch the action.

Petrov was at Celtic between 1999 and 2006, and said the feats of this year's team will stand the test of time.

"To win a treble, it is something amazing," said Petrov.

"That means you need to be consistent from day one.

"They have been consistent and you can't ignore that. You need to appreciate it.

"It is their achievement and it will be respected for years to come."

Henrik Larsson was top scorer when Celtic last won the treble back in 2001, but he does not think comparing the two sides is a worthwhile exercise.

"It is not fair to compare different eras," said Larsson.

"Football is always continually developing and so it is hard to compare different teams. I don't think you should do it.

"Be happy with what they have been winning this season and how they have been winning this season.

"That is what we should cherish."
