Lee Wallace has urged Rangers to sign Leicester City striker Joe Dodoo, who is currently training with the Glasgow club.
Dodoo, 22, has been a member of the Foxes' youth ranks since 2008, but has managed only four senior appearances for the Premier League champions.
However, the attacker has been lethal when given the chance with four goals in those appearances, scoring a hat-trick on his debut against Bury in a 4-1 win in the Capital One Cup last August.
Speaking to the Herald Scotland, Wallace revealed he had been impressed by the striker's ability in training.
"It would be nice to have him in," he said. "He's been in on trial for a few days and is looking fine. I don't know what's happening, but he's looking bright.
"The same is true of the rest of the lads. We're all in a good place.
"We're training very well and looking forward to pulling the blue jersey on for the first time in competitive game this season this weekend."
Dodoo is a free agent after his contract expired last month and has been training under manager Mark Warburton this week, but Sky sources understand that no deal is imminent as the player weighs up his options.
Leicester included Dodoo on their released list this summer, but are keen to hold onto the striker and have offered him a new contract.
Dodoo is currently competing with the likes of Jamie Vardy, Leonardo Ulloa and Shinji Okazaki for a starting place and with the arrival of a fourth striker, Ahmed Musa from CSKA Moscow last week, the youngster has been assessing where his future lies.
Ranger are preparing for their season opener against Motherwell in the League Cup on Saturday.
