Rangers have been fined €7,000 by UEFA after fans threw balls of paper on to the pitch during their Europa League tie against Progres Niederkorn at Ibrox.

Play was halted in the first leg of the first round qualifying fixture after some supporters in the Broomloan Stand threw the paper, which had been used for a pre-match card display, on to the pitch.

The Gers won the match 1-0 on June 29 but were beaten 2-0 in the return leg as they crashed out of the Europa League in the qualifying stages.
