Graeme Murty will not be Rangers boss next season, says Andy Walker

Graeme Murty does not have a hope of becoming the Rangers boss permanently, says former Celtic striker Andy Walker.
Rangers lost 4-0 in the Scottish Cup semi-final to Celtic at Hampden Park last Sunday with Murty apologising for their display.
Following the defeat, Lee Wallace and Kenny Miller were suspended by the Glasgow club over a dressing-room bust-up with Murty,
Speaking to Sky Sports News, Walker said: "Absolutely no chance Murty will get the Rangers job. Remember he did not go looking for this job.
"He was put in this position due to lack of leadership at the very top of Rangers. This was a club that brought in Pedro Caixinha, a baffling decision for anyone who knew about football.
"It's remarkable that a club like Rangers would go somewhere in the middle-east for a guy who finished mid-table and think he would be the man for Rangers to take on Celtic.
"Murty will not be the manager next season and I think the problem behind the scenes is the new manager will have to work with a director of football.
"If you are a manager of any substance, Celtic have got Brendan Rodgers for instance, are you going to work with a director of football? Are they going to work with Mark Allen [Rangers' director of football] who decides who comes into the team?
"Mark Allen is not in the line of fire, the manager or the head coach, his head is on the block. I think that is going to be a problem recruiting a top class manager if that is the structure they are going to continue with."
Murty has been in charge since the sacking of Caixinha in October and his future at the club is yet to be decided with his contract due to end this summer.
Walker believes Rangers will struggle to bring in the right person to help move the club forward.
"It may be they want someone to come in, as Murty did, who would not question Mark Allen or the structure of the club," he added.
"But I think if you want a serious manager to come in and challenge Celtic you have to be able to give him a lot of money to spend.
"Let's not forget, Rangers have spent a bit of money, they have just spent it so badly.
"When you recruit players like Carlos Pena, Eduardo Herrera and Dalcio who have done absolutely nothing for the club, what a waste of money that has been.
"Like every club, recruitment is key and Rangers are miles behind Celtic and the demands on the new manager, which Dave King [Rangers chairman] has already alluded to, would be to win the title immediately. That's a tall order."
Rangers, second in the Scottish Premiership table, have five games remaining this season, beginning with the visit of Hearts to Ibrox on Saturday, live on Sky Sports.
