Fiorentina extensions for Matias Fernandez and Marcos Alonso

Matias Fernandez and Marcos Alonso have signed contract extensions with Fiorentina.

Fernandez, who has played 119 games for Viola and won 69 caps for Chile, has penned a deal which ties him to the Serie A high-flyers until June 30, 2018.

Spanish full-back Alonso, meanwhile, has committed himself to the club until June 30, 2021. The 25-year-old former Real Madrid and Bolton defender joined Fiorentina in 2013 and has featured in 65 matches.

Fiorentina are second in Serie A, one point behind leaders Inter Milan.

They return from their winter break with a home match against Lazio this Saturday before a trip to AC Milan.
