Veteran striker Claudio Pizarro has signed a new one-year contract with Bundesliga side Werder Bremen.
The 37-year-old, a prolific scorer in Germany's top flight, penned a new deal until 2017 on Tuesday.
"I feel really good and I'm looking forward to playing another year for this special club," Pizarro said.
"It was a difficult but also a great year for me. I hope for the fans and the city that we can finish in a better position next season, and I want to give everything to achieve this."
Pizarro returned to Bremen from Bayern Munich a year ago and, in his third spell with the club, became their all-time leading goalscorer this season with 103 Bundesliga goals - two more than Marco Bode - from his total of 190 in Germany's top division.
"We're delighted that Claudio, a lead figure with all his experience and his particular style, is going to be part of our team next season," said Bremen's director of sport Thomas Eichin.
The former Chelsea forward scored 14 goals in 28 games for Bremen this season, 12 of which came in the second half of the campaign, including a hat-trick against Bayer Leverkusen.
Bremen avoided relegation on the final day of the season when an 87th-minute goal from Papy Djilobodji saw them beat Eintracht Frankfurt and move above their rivals.
