Hull manager Leonid Slutsky has encouraged English football fans to travel to the World Cup in Russia, saying that Russians are "like Yorkshire people".
Slutsky, currently in his first season with Hull, spent seven years in charge of CSKA Moscow and a year with the Russian national team.
Russia will host its first World Cup in 2018, but there have been fears for the safety of fans travelling to the country after violence involving Russian fans in France at Euro 2016.
However, Slutsky, from the Russian city of Volgograd, said: "I've told you a lot of times. Please, my advice is you must go to Russia if you want to see the best tournament in the world.
"Russian people are very friendly and very open, like Yorkshire people. For England supporters, it will be like a home atmosphere."
The 46-year-old former goalkeeper also said that he is sure that Russia will host the best ever World Cup.
He said: "We had the best Olympic Games in 1980. We had the best Winter Olympic Games in 2014, and now we will have the best World Cup."
When asked about England's chances in the tournament, Slutsky said: "In my opinion, England are one of maybe six or seven teams who have a serious chance to win this tournament."
