Martin O'Neill has called four new players into the Republic of Ireland squad for the games against Northern Ireland and Denmark later this month.

Liverpool goalkeeper Caoimhin Kelleher, Hearts defender Jimmy Dunne, Rotherham United midfielder Ryan Manning and Southampton forward Michael Obafemi will all have an opportunity to win their first caps.

Everton defender Seamus Coleman and Burnley midfielder Robbie Brady return to the squad after recovering from foot and ankle injuries respectively.

Stephen Ward (knee) and Jonathan Walters (Achilles) are ruled out.

As expected, West Ham's Declan Rice is also absent from the squad as he continues to weigh up his international future.

Glenn Whelan will captain the side in the friendly match against Northern Ireland at the Aviva Stadium on November 15, in what will be his 85th appearance for his country.

The Aston Villa midfielder will not be part of the squad for the UEFA Nations League clash with Denmark on November 19.
