Allan McGregor has dropped out of the Scotland squad for their forthcoming friendlies against Mexico and Peru.

The goalkeeper - who rejoined Rangers this week six years after leaving Ibrox - has been replaced by Celtic's Scott Bain.

McGregor is the fourth player to drop out of manager Alex McLeish's 24-man squad for the end-of-season trip to South and Central America.

Wolves full-back Barry Douglas pulled out on Tuesday, with Newcastle winger Matt Ritchie and Bournemouth's Ryan Fraser also withdrawing a day later.

Motherwell's Chris Cadden has consequently been summoned as a replacement, with John Souttar and Lewis Morgan also stepping up from the under-21 squad.
