Rangers have terminated the contract of Mexican midfielder Carlos Pena.

The 28-year-old was signed by Rangers in the summer of 2017 but made just 14 appearances, during which he scored five goals, before being loaned out to Mexican side Cruz Azul after just half a season at Ibrox.

Pena was reunited with Pedro Caixinha at Cruz Azul, with the Portuguese manager having signed him for Rangers before being sacked in October 2017.

However, after failing to score in 10 games, Pena moved on to another Liga MX side, Nexaca, from where he was released early to return to Rangers in December.
