AFC Fylde 1-0 Leyton Orient: Danny Rowe free-kick the difference in FA Trophy final

Danny Rowe's second-half strike proved enough as AFC Fylde beat National League champions Leyton Orient 1-0 to claim the FA Trophy at Wembley.

Andy Bond had a couple of chances to put the losing play-off finalists ahead from close range in the opening half, while team-mate Nick Haughton found the side netting as James Brophy came close at the other end.

Jordan Maguire-Drew hit the post five minutes after the break as Orient searched for an opener, while Dan Happe headed an effort over and Marvin Ekpiteta hit the woodwork but - against the run of play - the Coasters took the lead on the hour mark.

Joint National League top scorer with 27 this season, Rowe broke the deadlock as he curled a free-kick into the top corner leaving goalkeeper Dean Brill with no chance.

Joe Widdowson came close to equalising for the Os but hit the post as Fylde held on for the narrow victory.

Chertsey beat Cray Valley to lift FA Vase

Earlier in the day at Wembley, Chertsey beat Cray 3-1 after extra-time.

Gavin Tomlin puts the Millers ahead in the 36th minute before Sam Flegg pulled a goal back for Cray (39) with a header in off the post from a Lubomir Guentchev corner.

Anthony Edgard hit the bar five minutes into second-half stoppage time.

But the decisive moment in the game arrived in the first half of extra-time when Jake Baxter converted from the spot after referee Ross Joyce adjudged Guentchev to have tripped Cem Tumkaya up inside the box.

And the win was wrapped up in the 117th minute through Quincy Rowe who curled his strike into the top corner.
