Watch the moment Real Salt Lake goalkeeper Nick Rimando made an incredible save - with his face!

Goalkeepers are known at times to make slightly unorthodox saves, but how about keeping a goal out with your face?

That's exactly what happened when Real Salt Lake beat Owen Coyle's Houston Dynamo 2-1 on Saturday to move into second place in the Western Conference.

Rimando is known for making outstanding saves in MLS having been in the league since 2000, and this is one he will not forget for a while.

In the 80th minute, with Real Salt Lake 2-1 up, Houston's Leonel Miranda's shot was pushed away by Rimando and the post before coming out to Andrew Wenger.

He took a point-blank shot on the rebound which smashed off the US international's face before going out for a corner.

"My face is good," Rimando told a local radio station after the game.

"I think I need to be a hand model now. I'm okay. Right when it happened my reaction is to get up and make sure the ball doesn't get in the net. But me and [assistant coach Daryl Shore], we practiced those face shots all week and it paid off."
