Burton v Southend preview
Monday 1 October 2018 16:53, UK
Burton will hope to shrug off a sickness bug which hit the squad last week for the visit of Southend.
Striker Marvin Sordell came off ill in Saturday's goalless draw with Scunthorpe while several others, not named by boss Nigel Clough, were affected.
Captain Jake Buxton returned to the bench for the draw as he recovers from a back problem. Stephen Quinn (knee), Scott Fraser (calf) and David Templeton all shrugged off knocks to play at the weekend.
Harry Bunn is close to a Southend comeback after returning to training last week following a foot problem. The forward still missed Saturday's 3-2 win at Wycombe but Dru Yearwood overcame a long-term hamstring problem to make his first appearance of the season.
Defender Harry Lennon (fractured toe) remains sidelined for the Shrimpers. Centre-back Rob Kiernan, sidelined since August 2017, is set to start running again following his long-term knee problem.
