Danny Welbeck, Raheem Sterling, James Milner - England's injury list outlined

England travel to Turin on Tuesday to face an Italian side they have only managed to beat once in their previous six meetings.
Roy Hodgson's squad took another step closer to Euro 2016 on Friday as their comfortable 4-0 victory over Lithuania at Wembley saw them open up a six-point lead at the top of Group E.
The 24-man squad selected for the first match was decimated by injuries in the build-up, as five first-team players were forced to pull out.
And Friday’s game appears to have taken its toll on the remaining squad members with a further four players forced to miss the trip to Italy.
We’ve outlined who’s withdrawn from the squad, who’s been called up, and why…
OUT: Danny Welbeck, Arsenal, Knee
Welbeck was ruled out of the trip to Italy immediately after his Man of the Match performance against Lithuania. Having scored England’s second goal of the night, the Arsenal striker picked up a slight knock to his knee and he has returned to his club to receive treatment.
OUT: Raheem Sterling, Liverpool, Toe
Hodgson admitted he knew Sterling would not be travelling to Italy after he had to receive pain-killing injections for an on-going injury against Lithuania. His withdrawal was authorised with a view to helping his recovery.
OUT: James Milner, Manchester City, Knee
Milner sat out the victory over Lithuania with an on-going knee problem and he will not travel to Turin with the squad. His versatility in midfield could leave Hodgson’s squad threadbare after other notable withdrawals.
OUT: Leighton Baines, Everton, Knee and quad
Hodgson revealed it was his intention to let Baines leave the squad after the Lithuania game. The Everton full-back has been nursing a knee problem throughout the season and the break will aid his recovery from a few niggles he picked up at Wembley.
IN: Ryan Bertrand, Southampton
Bertrand met up with the England squad on Sunday ahead of the trip to Turin after Baines' planned withdrawal. Hodgson confirmed the Southampton full-back would provide cover for Arsenal's Kieran Gibbs as well as ensuring he would have at least two players to call upon in that position.
Injuries prior to Lithuania game
Fraser Forster, Southampton, Knee
Forster picked up a serious knee injury in Southampton’s 2-0 win over Burnley last weekend. He was ruled out of the games at Wembley and in Turin, and will miss the remainder of the season after undergoing knee surgery.
OUT: Daniel Sturridge, Liverpool, Hip
Liverpool’s injury-plagued forward had joined up with Hodgson’s squad but was forced to return after scans revealed the extent of a hip injury sustained in the defeat against Manchester United. His exit opened the door for Harry Kane to feature and mark his debut with a goal.
OUT: Luke Shaw, Manchester United, Hamstring
Shaw missed Manchester United’s 2-1 victory at Liverpool after he failed to recover from a knock picked up against Arsenal in the FA Cup. The 19-year-old has struggled to nail down a regular place at Old Trafford and his susceptibility to injury is hampering his chances of cementing a place in Hodgson’s back four.
OUT: Adam Lallana, Liverpool, Groin
The Liverpool midfielder was involved in a high-speed collision with England team-mate Phil Jones in the first half of Manchester United’s win at Anfield. However, it was a groin injury which forced him off during that game and he was deemed unfit to join up with Hodgson’s squad for both games.
OUT: Danny Rose, Tottenham, Hip and hamstring
Having been called into the squad to cover the withdrawal of Shaw, Rose was forced to pull out of the Lithuania and Italy games after suffering hip and hamstring injuries. With Baines’ injury opening the door to Bertrand, Rose would have had a strong chance of playing part of the game in Turin.
