Celtic have appointed Grant Scott as the club's new Women's head coach.

He joins from Hibernian to replace Elena Sadiku, who has left the Glasgow club to pursue new opportunities.

Scott guided Hibs to a first Scottish Cup and League Cup double in 2019.

Spells at Hearts, St Johnstone, Glasgow City and Durham Women followed before he returned to guide the club to a first top-flight league title in 18 years last May.

He said: "It is a huge honour to join Celtic and I look forward to carrying on the great work at the club, to push on and bring even more success to Celtic.

"I'm excited to join at a time when the new Barrowfield Training Centre is giving our women's team every opportunity to develop, providing the players and those coming through the Academy with the best possible environment to train and come to work each day.

She made an immediate impact by leading Celtic to their first-ever Scottish Women's Premier League title, before guiding Celtic to the Women's Champions League group stage for the first time.

Celtic are currently fourth in the SWPL, level on points with second-place Rangers and third-place Hearts - all trailing leaders Glasgow City by seven points.

Murray replaces Scott at Hibs

Former Hibernian captain Joelle Murray has replaced Scott at the Easter Road club as the club's new head coach.

The 39-year-old has signed a three-and-a-half-year deal and will be supported by current assistant head coach Stewart Hall.

Murray made a record 507 appearances for Hibernian and earned 48 caps for Scotland during her illustrious 21-year playing career.

She had been part of Scott's coaching staff since the start of last season, helping Hibs win the league title - adding to the two she won at the club as a player. Murray also won seven Scottish Cups and five League Cups - making her the club's most decorated player of all time.

She said: "It's a real honour and privilege for me to become Hibernian FC Women head coach.

"Everyone knows about my association with this magnificent Football Club and how much Hibs means to me. This moment is certainly up there with one of the proudest moments in my career.

"We had great success as a coaching team last season, and have a group full of youth and experience, with a collective hunger to drive this club forward. I look forward to continuing working with everyone as head coach."
