Roma 3-2 Lazio (Agg 3-4): Lazio reach Coppa Italia final at expense of rivals Roma
Wednesday 5 April 2017 16:13, UK
Lazio advanced to the Coppa Italia final despite Mohamed Salah's double handing Roma a 3-2 second-leg win on Tuesday night.
A 2-0 semi-final first-leg victory proved to be invaluable for Lazio, who clinched the tie 4-3 on aggregate thanks predominantly to Sergej Milinkovic-Savic and Ciro Immobile.
Both Milinkovic-Savic and Immobile were on target in the opening leg - in what was Lazio's first win over Roma in nearly four years - and the duo were on the scoresheet once more as they cancelled out Stephan El Shaarawy's opener at the Stadio Olimpico.
Salah made it 2-2 on the night midway through the second half, though his second came too late for Roma to complete the unlikeliest of comebacks.
Lazio last won the Coppa Italia in 2013, though they were runners-up to Juventus back in 2015.
And they could well meet Juventus again, with the Italian champions taking a 3-1 lead into their semi-final second leg against Napoli on Wednesday night.
