Accrington leapfrogged Shrewsbury in the bottom half of the League One table after beating them 2-0 at Montgomery Waters Meadow.
Goals from Bobby Grant and Jordan Clark, who both played for Shrewsbury earlier in their careers, guided the visitors to maximum points.
Conor McAleny drove off target from distance for the home side in the early stages before Accrington took a 13th minute lead as Grant, who recently returned to Stanley on loan from Wrexham, fired a powerful rising shot from just outside the penalty area high into the net.
Jason Cummings saw a close range effort blocked in a crowded six yard box before he again went close after heading Scott Golbourne's cross from the left over the bar.
Cummings had an effort deflected wide early in the second half as Shrewsbury, without a league win since December 21, went in search of an equaliser.
But Accrington doubled their advantage in the 71st minute when Clark turned in the rebound after goalkeeper Joe Murphy initially saved a header from Ross Sykes.
