Wycombe started life after Gareth Ainsworth with a 2-0 defeat at fellow play-off chasers Shrewsbury.
Ainsworth racked up 550 games in the Chairboys' dugout before returning to QPR, a club he made over 140 appearances for and twice managed on a caretaker basis.

Marko Marosi ensured the hosts went into the break ahead with a brilliant stop to keep out Jordan Obita's free-kick.
Wanderers pushed for a leveller as Obita fired a free-kick over and Chem Campbell forced Marosi into a decent save after cutting inside.
But hopes of a late leveller were squashed when substitute Pyke poked home the rebound after Max Stryjek saved his initial shot.
