Roman Bednar came off the bench to earn West Brom a 1-1 draw with Real Mallorca at The Hawthorns.
Cameroon international Pierre Webo gave Mallorca the lead in the first half only for Bednar to equalise six minutes after the break.
West Brom suffered a blow on 13 minutes when Neil Clement was forced to limp off with a knee problem and he was replaced by Pele.
The visitors broke the deadlock on 26 minutes when Webo ghosted in past the Baggies defence and smashed his shot past Scott Carson.
Czech Republic striker Bednar was introduced to the action at half-time and took just six minutes to make an impact when he latched onto a rebound after Ishmael Miller's initial shot had been saved.
Bednar missed a great chance to give West Brom the lead on 64 minutes when he found himself with an open goal, only for Marti to deny him with a last-gasp block.
The Baggies continued to push for a winner and skipper Jonathan Greening came close to scoring in the final minutes when his deflected effort was saved by Mallorca goalkeeper German Lux.
