Marcus Bent fined for possessing drugs at Chessington World of Adventures

Former Premier League footballer Marcus Bent has been fined £385 after admitting to possessing a Class A drug at the children's theme park Chessington World of Adventures.

The Metropolitan Police have confirmed Bent was arrested at an address in Leatherhead in Surrey on Monday.

The former Ipswich, Everton, Charlton and Birmingham striker was given a 12-month suspended sentence for affray and possession of cocaine in February.

On that occasion, he called the police to his flat, reporting intruders. But when officers arrived he was found waving knives in the air, which led to him being tasered.

In addition to today's fine, the former England U21 International - who played for 14 clubs in a 17-year professional career - will have to pay court costs.
