Bury continued their charge towards automatic promotion from Sky Bet League Two with a 3-0 victory over Macclesfield at Gigg Lane.
The Shakers' fourth successive league win was hard-earned but deserved, with the home side waiting until the 24th minute before making the breakthrough.
After a Caolan Lavery shot was blocked by Fiacre Kelleher, Nicky Maynard was on hand to smash the rebound high into the roof of the net from six yards for his 18th goal of the season.
Danny Mayor should later have doubled Bury's lead, only to blaze wildly over from 12 yards.
Maynard then went close again three minutes after the restart but was denied by a point-blank stop from goalkeeper Kieran O'Hara, while Callum McFadzean glanced a precise header a whisker wide soon after.
The crucial second goal came from the penalty spot in the 75th minute, with Michael Rose adjudged to have handled Mayor's shot on the turn, providing Jay O'Shea the opportunity of doubling the lead.
Bury made it three with virtually the last kick of the game as Scott Wharton nodded home Nicky Adams' out-swinging corner-kick.
