Cambridge 2-1 Bromley
Saturday 18 October 2025 14:52, UK
Shayne Lavery and Kylian Kouassi were on target in a strong first half as Cambridge returned to winning ways with a narrow 2-1 League Two victory over Bromley.
The U's took the lead inside two minutes as Sullay Kaikai's free-kick fell to Lavery - after he initially teed up Kouassi - and his shot was diverted in by the Northern Ireland international.
Lavery could have celebrated a second after 11 minutes when he was found by Kouassi, only to be denied by the legs of Bromley goalkeeper Sam Long.

It was Kouassi who provided the second Cambridge goal after 41 minutes when he received Ben Purrington's throw with his back to goal, turned his man and fired a fine finish across Long.
After Bromley made a quadruple substitution at half-time, Michael Cheek took a long ball down well and lobbed Jake Eastwood to score his seventh goal of the season, five minutes after the restart.
The game was held up for 10 minutes from the 67th minute when referee Declan Bourne sustained an injury and had to be assisted from the field, with a replacement fourth official sourced from the crowd.
The match stretched on for an additional 17 minutes of added time as a result but the hosts held on for maximum points.
