Scottish Premiership: Celtic v Motherwell Sky Live preview
Sunday 15 May 2016 12:19, UK
Celtic's top scorer Leigh Griffiths will not get the chance to add to his season's 40-goal tally as suspension rules him out of the Hoops' curtain call at home to Motherwell on Sunday, live on Sky Sports 2 HD from 12pm.
Departing boss Ronny Deila will take charge of the champions for the final time while skipper Scott Brown and defender Dedryck Boyata will continue their watching briefs because of hamstring issues.
Centre-back Jozo Simunovic also misses out with a knee injury. The hosts will be presented with the trophy at the end of the game.
Motherwell left-back Steven Hammell is struggling with a knock ahead of Sunday's Sky Live finale.
Skipper Keith Lasley is suspended while Josh Law (foot) and James McFadden (broken ankle) are still sidelined.
One of the issues that may need addressing over the short summer hiatus in the east end of Glasgow is Celtic's unwieldy squad; they currently have 22 midfielders on their books - not an ideal recipe for squad harmony, according to Mikael Lustig.
"There is a lot of players in the same positions and that's maybe one of the weaknesses that we have," he said.
"We don't have 11 to 15 players who are always in the first team - there have been a lot of changes between games.
"We will see what the new manager wants to do with the club. Maybe some will have to go, maybe he will bring in some new players as well."
Motherwell manager Mark McGhee meanwhile insists the club are 'bending over backwards' to extend the stays of their out-of-contract senior players.
Stephen McManus, Lasley and Hammell have been told the club cannot afford to pay the same deals, while Craig Samson and Scott McDonald are also in talks.
Motherwell have lost £2m over the last four seasons and McGhee said: "It's not really a take-it-or-leave-it because we are bending over backwards in order to persuade them to stay.
"We need a squad next year of 20 and we don't have a generous benefactor sitting in the wings to make up some shortfall. Those days have gone here.
"We must work with what we have. The offers we have made and, if offers are improved, will be based on real money, on what we can afford without making the club go bust again."
As to Sunday's game, McGhee insists his side will take succour from their victory at Parkhead before Christmas.
He said: "We will not be going there with any fear because we know we can give them a game, and because there is nothing to lose: we have got fifth place and there is nothing else to be decided."
