Team news for Tuesday night's Johnstone's Paint Trophy clash between Cheltenham and Plymouth at Whaddon Road.
Cheltenham manager Mark Yates has doubts over two players ahead of his side's Johnstone's Paint Trophy clash with Plymouth Argyle at Whaddon Road. Wes Thomas and JJ Melligan both picked up knocks in the Robins' 2-0 win against Aldershot at the weekend and will have to pass late fitness tests on Tuesday before they are announced in the squad. Josh Low returned to Saturday's squad following a calf strain and had no reaction so is likely to keep his place in order for him to get some game time under his belt. Two players who are unavailable for Town are midfielder Frankie Artus who has a cracked fibula and defender Martin Riley who has a hamstring injury. Both players are expected back in training within a fortnight. Plymouth boss Peter Reid will have centre-back Reda Johnson available for his side's JPT southern section second-round match at Cheltenham. Johnson returns from the one-match ban he served by sitting out Saturday's 1-0 home loss to Hartlepool and is expected to regain his place in the starting XI. Reid praised the performance of 16-year-old right-back Jack Stephens after he came on as a first-half substitute in the weekend's narrow defeat and he could be in line for a start. The same can be said for Congolese striker Yala Bolasie who made his comeback from six weeks out with ankle and knee problems to come on at half-time against the Pools. However, midfielder Jim Paterson is a doubt for the match after picking up a slight hamstring injury at the weekend and is likely to be rested. Steven MacLean will be looking to earn a recall after being an unused substitute in the club's last two games.
