Chesterfield v Wycombe preview
Sunday 8 April 2012 15:17, UK
Team news ahead of Monday's League One clash between Chesterfield and Wycombe at the B2net Stadium.
Chesterfield duo Alex Mendy and Neal Trotman may not recover in time for the clash. Centre-half Trotman missed the 3-2 defeat at fellow strugglers Walsall through injury and midfielder Mendy was only fit enough for a role as an unused substitute. Due to the quick turnaround between the Easter fixtures, both players remain a doubt ahead of Monday's match. Jimmy Juan was on the bench at the Banks's Stadium after a run of injuries and made a late appearance against the Saddlers. He may now be pushing for a start along with fellow midfielders Mark Allott and Danny Whitaker as well as strikers Nicky Ajose and Scott Boden. The likes of Derek Niven and Jamie Lowry could also come back into the reckoning. Defeat to Wycombe would mean an immediate return to League Two for Chesterfield. Wycombe's Dave Winfield may come back into the reckoning for the encounter. Winfield has missed the last three matches with the thigh injury that forced him off during the win at Exeter on March 20. It is a problem that has been hampering the defender for a while and he will continue to be monitored ahead of the game on Monday, along with winger Joel Grant (ankle). Manager Gary Waddock has options available should he wish to make changes to his starting line-up. Leon Johnson returned to the bench after suspension against Carlisle on Friday while fellow defender Louis Laing, midfielders Gareth Ainsworth and Anthony McNamee and striker Matt McClure will also be hoping for recalls.
