Harry Wilson could be back in Derby's starting line-up against Wigan in Tuesday's Sky Bet Championship clash at Pride Park.
The attacking midfielder, on loan from Liverpool, was only fit enough to be on the bench at Aston Villa on Saturday because off illness. Striker David Nugent and midfielder Tom Huddlestone should return to contention after missing the 4-0 defeat at Villa Park.
Recent signing Efe Ambrose continues to build up his fitness while Tom Lawrence, Mason Mount, Craig Bryson, Andy King, Marcus Olsson, Craig Forsyth and Curtis Davies are all still out for the Rams, who are looking to get their play-off challenge back on track after three straight losses.
Wigan will have Nick Powell available after he missed the goalless draw with Middlesbrough. The forward was ill last week but has since resumed training and Latics boss Paul Cook must decide whether he goes straight back into the team.
Cook made two changes at the weekend as Nathan Byrne and Cedric Kipre replaced Michael Jacobs and Anthony Pilkington. Wigan are unbeaten in five Championship matches, drawing their last four, and will hope to extend that sequence at Pride Park as they look to keep their heads above the relegation line.
