Graeme Murty has warned his side against complacency when Rangers travel to Fraserburgh in the Scottish Cup on Wednesday, live on Sky Sports.
The Highland League team will be trying to cause an upset in the fourth round of the competition against a Rangers side who have lifted the trophy 33 times, with the fixture rearranged after a frozen pitch at Bellslea Park on January 21.
Murty felt his squad had the perfect warning when they watched Tottenham struggle to scrape a replay against Newport in the English version, the FA Cup, on Saturday.
The Gers boss said: "We watched a group of players from a lower league really push their Premier League opponents very, very, very hard. They were really unfortunate not to win the game.
"I said to the players, 'This could be us unless we apply ourselves properly'. I'm not saying Tottenham didn't, but we need to be ready for it, we need to be ready for a difficult pitch, a close encounter with guys who are desperate to be the story in Scottish football this year."
Fraserburgh are currently second in the Highland League and have beaten Forres Mechanics, Edinburgh University and Spartans on their way to Wednesday's tie.
Rangers will be without Greg Docherty and James Tavernier for their rearranged Scottish Cup tie. Docherty is ineligible after signing from Hamilton after the original date for the fourth-round clash and Tavernier is suspended.
Ryan Jack (knee), Ross McCrorie (foot), Bruno Alves (calf), Lee Wallace (hernia), Graham Dorrans (ankle), Kenny Miller (hamstring) and Jordan Rossiter (knee) remain out.
