Leyton Orient 2-3 Crawley: Ollie Palmer nets winner against former employers
Saturday 24 August 2019 18:17, UK
Substitute Ollie Palmer scored twice within three minutes against his former club as Crawley twice came from behind to record a 3-2 win at Leyton Orient.
The O's had gone in front after 22 minutes through a spectacular 25-yard drive by Josh Wright, but the visitors were back on level terms when Panutche Camara set up Nathan Ferguson to drill the ball home.
Six minutes after the interval, Jordan Maguire-Drew found his way into the Crawley penalty box before being upended by David Sesay, who was booked for his indiscretion, and Lee Angol stepped up to convert the spot-kick.
The arrival of Palmer in the 58th minute was to prove a defining moment. The former Orient striker had only been on the pitch for 11 minutes when he found the net twice in three minutes.
His first came following a corner when he drove a left-footed shot into the net from 12 yards to equalise.
Then, Palmer was left unmarked in the area to side-foot the ball home from close range.
