Matt Le Tissier's best GB XI: Gareth Bale and Aaron Ramsey in, Wayne Rooney out

Wales duo Gareth Bale and Aaron Ramsey feature in Matt Le Tissier's GB XI - but there's no place for Wayne Rooney in the England-dominated line-up.

Ahead of the latest round of Euro 2016 qualifiers, the Soccer Saturday pundit picked his best XI from England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland.

Bale and Ramsey - who have helped Wales to the brink of qualification - are the only non-English players in the team.

However, there is no room for England captain Rooney or Three Lions centre-back Gary Cahill.

Harry Kane, who has also once found the net once in the league, gets the nod up front, while Tottenham team-mate Deli Alli also makes the line-up.

Le Tissier's GB XI: Hart, Clyne, Stones, Smalling, Shaw, Alli, Ramsey, Barkley, Walcott, Kane, Bale.

"On current form Rooney doesn't get in as he has been average for Manchester United and isn't getting involved enough," said Le Tissier.

"Jamie Vardy was close to getting in as he's having a great season with Leicester, but Kane leads the line for me as, while he hasn't been scoring his usual goals, his all round play has been very good.

"I'm picking Alli on his impressive performances this season and he looks like a real star for the future, while Ross Barkley and Aaron Ramsey join him in midfield."

Ian Rush, Niall Quinn, Neil McCann and Gerry Armstrong on the hopes of the Home Nations and Ireland.

John Stones and Chris Smalling are preferred over the more experienced duo of Cahill and Phil Jagielka at the back, while Luke Shaw is picked ahead of fellow injured left-back Leighton Baines.

Le Tissier added: "I've gone with an all English backline but Cahill misses out as he's having a bit of a dodgy spell for Chelsea, although when he's back to his best he would be in that team.

"Stones and Smalling have both been better this season, while Ashley Williams came into consideration."

"Luke Shaw is also in there as he started the season really well, while Nathanial Clyne has settled in quickly at Liverpool."

Poland to win and Lewandoski to score, England to win by two or more goals and Bosnia to win – 14/1

While Le Tissier only picks two non-English players, he insists that Gareth Bale would be his key man: "Gareth Bale is obviously the star of the team and he'd be taking corners, free-kicks, penalties and would be my captain."
