Mauricio Pochettino has given Harry Kane his blessing to join up with England after the striker's goal earned Tottenham a 1-1 draw against Arsenal.

Kane was named in Gareth Southgate's squad on Sunday night, along with his Spurs team-mates Danny Rose, Kyle Walker and Eric Dier.

Kane was handed a surprise start at the Emirates Stadium earlier in the day after seven weeks out with an ankle ligament injury and he justified his manager's faith with a second-half equaliser from the penalty spot before being withdrawn on 82 minutes.

It was Kane's fifth goal in as many games against the Gunners and his fitness hands Southgate a boost ahead of the World Cup Qualifier against Scotland on Friday and the friendly against Spain four days later.

"Can he be in the England squad? I think yes," said Pochettino. "Now the doctor is assessing him but I think it is not a problem."

However, Southgate will definitely be without Dele Alli, who is out for a "few weeks" after twisting his knee in training on Saturday, while Walker limped off at the Emirates.

"I haven't had time to see Kyle Walker, he is with a doctor too," added Pochettino.

"We will see after the press conference if he can go or not. Dele Alli suffered a minor problem in his knee. He clashed doing tactics yesterday and twisted his knee a little bit. It's a minor, minor problem but impossible he could be available today."
