Championship leaders Newcastle could be without the league's top scorer Dwight Gayle for their next six games because of a hamstring injury

Newcastle striker Dwight Gayle is set to miss the next month with a  hamstring injury.

The Sky Bet Championship's top scorer suffered a recurrence of his injury during Monday night's 2-0 win over Aston Villa and was withdrawn during the first half.

The match against Villa was Gayle's first start since initially injuring his hamstring at Brentford on January 14.

He is now set to miss the next six games in the Championship run-in, including away trips to promotion rivals Brighton, which is live on Sky Sports, Huddersfield and Reading.
