Striker happy to end Birmingham's wait for silverware

The winning goal in the 2011 Carling Cup final was the easiest in the career of Obafemi Martins, according to the Birmingham hero. Substitute Martins earned the St Andrews club their first trophy since 1963 as he scored a dramatic winner in the 89th minute at Wembley. The Nigerian pounced after a dreadful mix-up between Arsenal goalkeeper Wojciech Szczesny and defender Laurent Koscielny to seal a 2-1 victory. And on-loan Rubin Kazan player Martins admitted afterwards on Sky Sports 1: "I think this is the easiest goal I've ever scored in my career - and it's very important. "I'm glad I scored today and I'm glad we won. I think it was my second touch. I'm very happy. "The gaffer (Alex McLeish) said to me that I would come on in the second half, so I think he did it right. "It means a lot to the fans and players - we really need this trophy."
