Blackpool's teenage defender Lloyd Jones has been ruled out for up to three months due to an ankle injury.

Jones, 19, on loan from Liverpool, sustained the injury in last week's home win against Chesterfield and scans have confirmed he faces an extended spell on the sidelines.

"Lloyd has had scans and it looks like he's going to be out for a couple of months," manager Neil McDonald told the club's official website.

"We'll support him through that and as soon as he's fit we'll get him back as quick as we can.

"We're all sorry that he's picked up the injury because he's been developing and progressing with each game."

Jones has been a regular starter for the Seasiders this season after arriving from Liverpool in July.
