West Brom have agreed a £5.5m fee with QPR for winger Matt Phillips, Sky sources understand.

Phillips featured in 44 Sky Bet Championship games for QPR last season, scoring eight goals.

He was left out of the club's pre-season tour to the Netherlands where Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink's side will play PSV Eindhoven and FC Groningen.

Phillips joined QPR from Blackpool in the summer of 2013 after spending three years at Bloomfield Road.

Despite representing England at youth level, Phillips has made four international appearances for Scotland after qualifying to play for the Tartan Army through his Scottish grandparents.

The 25-year-old now looks set to become West Brom's first signing of the summer, subject to agreeing personal terms and undergoing a medical.
