Coventry terminate Yakubu's contract after just three appearances

Yakubu has had his contract terminated by Coventry having made just three appearances for the club.
The 34-year-old was signed by previous Sky Blues boss Russel Slade in January after a short trial period.
Yakubu, who played in the Premier League with Middlesbrough, Portsmouth and Everton, penned a deal until May 2017.
However, he pulled on the shirt just three times, playing a total of just 69 minutes.
In his final appearance against Swindon, where he played 20 minutes, the striker suffered a hamstring injury and was criticised on social media for his perceived lack of commitment in the closing stages of the game.
Yakubu recently returned to England following a spell in the Turkish Super Lig side Kayserispor.
"The club can announce that former Everton striker Yakubu has had his contract mutually terminated, with immediate effect," a statement released by Coventry said.
"Yakubu made three appearances for the Sky Blues, before suffering a hamstring injury against Swindon Town.
"The club would like to wish Yakubu all the best for the future."
Coventry play Sheffield United on Tuesday evening in Sky Bet League One.
