Hearts have signed Liverpool U23 midfielder Connor Randall on a season-long loan.
The 21-year-old is a product of the Liverpool Academy and has made eight senior appearances in the last two seasons under Jurgen Klopp.
Connor told the club website: "It's great to be here. When I heard Hearts were interested I jumped at it. I couldn't turn it down, it's a great club and I can't wait to get going."
Hearts coach Ian Cathro said: "Connor's a very hungry young player, athletically excellent and has experience in a number of positions.
"He brings a great intensity to his play and I probably go back to the hunger that he has at this stage in his career.
"He's a player that I'm really pleased to have been able to bring, he's someone who we've been tracking for some time. We're pleased that he's joined us."
Hearts, who lost at Peterhead on Tuesday, must beat Dunfermline on Saturday to ensure they progress beyond the League Cup group stages.
