Leeds United defender Gaetano Berardi has signed a new three-year contract to keep him at the club until 2020.
The Switzerland full-back, who started in Leeds' opening Championship win over Bolton, had just a year left on the previous deal he signed in 2015.
Berardi made 29 appearances last season and has become a popular player with the club's supporters.
Having joined Leeds from Italian side Sampdoria in 2014, the 28-year-old has made a total of 83 appearances and becomes the latest player to sign a new contract in the last week, following Kalvin Phillips and Tyler Denton.
The defender was stretchered off in the game at Bolton last weekend with a suspected shoulder injury but issued a positive statement on Instagram after the game.
He said: "Great performance yesterday of all the team, we managed all the difficult moments with a strong mentality! Proud of all my teammates."
