Yohan Benalouane has joined Sky Bet Championship club Nottingham Forest on an 18-month contract from Leicester.

The 31-year-old defender becomes new Forest manager Martin O'Neill's first signing at the City Ground.

Benalouane initially joined Leicester from Atalanta in 2015 but made just 16 Premier League appearances over the course of three-and-a-half seasons at the King Power Stadium.

The Tunisia international joins Forest to help bolster O'Neill's dwindling options in defence.

Danny Fox and Tendayi Darikwa are both suspended for Saturday's game against Bristol City, while Michael Dawson [hamstring] and Michael Hefele [Achilles] are expected to miss the match through injury.
