Roque Junior could make Bundesliga return
Bundesliga outfit Duisburg could make a move for former Brazilian World Cup star Roque Junior following a series of injuries.
German media reports claim that Duisburg coach Rudi Bommer is interested in bringing the 32-year-old stopper - who was part of Brazil's 2002 World Cup winning squad - to the MSV Arena.
He is currently without a club after rejecting a new contract at Bayer Leverkusen in the summer and would jump at the chance to return to the Bundesliga.
"I have been training with Sao Paulo for the last month and am really fit," he told Kicker.
"My goal is to return to the Bundesliga as my whole family is planning to move to Germany.
Potential
"There has been no contact as yet (with Duisburg), but if Rudi Bommer gives me a ring then I'm ready to talk immediately.
"Duisburg has a team with plenty of potential," he added.
Duisburg have suffered a series of injuries to key defenders - they will be without centre half Iulian Filpescu for several weeks after the Romanian suffered a muscle fibre rupture against Hertha Berlin recently.
Meanwhile, his defensive partner Bjorn Schlicke broke a rib in the same match and is a serious doubt for this weekend's game at Rostock.
