Former Samp stars fails in appeal to Olympic Committee
The Italian Olympic Committee have rejected Francesco Flachi's appeal against a two-year ban following a failed drugs test.
Flachi failed a random test in January when then a Sampdoria player, following their game against Internazionale.
In the summer Flachi agreed to leave Sampdoria by mutual consent and in the intervening period has been working on his defence.
However, after meeting with the Olympic Committee, his pleas have fallen on deaf ears - with the ban being upheld.
Flachi, who was tested positive for cocaine, will not be able to return to the football arena until 2009.
