Reading stopper prolongs spell in League One

Gillingham have been boosted with the news Reading have granted Adam Bygrave permission to remain at Priestfield until the end of the season. Bygrave has impressed since joining the League One club in a loan switch from his Premier League paymasters. And the 18-year-old, who has made nine appearances during his loan spell, will now garner further experience of first-team football between now and the campaign's close. "It is great for Gillingham and Adam himself," Gills boss Mark Stimson told the club's official website. "He is a popular member of the first-team squad and is a promising young defender, who will certainly get better. "Adam is one for the future and, with more first-team games with us, I am sure when he returns to Reading he will be all the better for it."
