Poyet reveals Espanyol duo are on club's wanted list

Gus Poyet has confirmed Carlos Kameni and Daniel Jarque are among Tottenham's summer transfer targets. The Uruguayan coach told Catalan radio that both the Cameroon international keeper and 25-year-old Spanish central defender were on a list of potential signings. Kameni, 24, has been watched by several major European clubs in the past, including Manchester United, but Poyet's admission could now exert more pressure on Paul Robinson, despite him recently regaining his place from Radek Cerny. Jarque has been linked with a switch to White Hart Lane since December, even though Los Periquitos claimed that the interest was a smoke-screen used by Spurs to move for another player. Now Poyet has spoken openly to prevent any more rumours on Spurs' summer targets, although it remains to be seen how Espanyol react to the news.

Interesting players

"Kameni and Jarque are very interesting players and every player that is interesting is welcome at a club like Tottenham," he told RAC1's 'Primer toc' (First Touch) programme. "Both are on a long list of players that the sporting director (Damien Comolli) has and that the club is looking at to strengthen the squad. "The decision on which players will be approached has not been taken. In the future, the matter will be resolved and decided."
