Ipswich skipper will make decision on his future over the summer

Jason De Vos insists that no exterior factors will affect his decision to carry on playing in 2008/09. The Ipswich skipper is out of contract in the summer and is yet to sign the one-year extension offered to him by the Tractor Boys. With options to move into media work back in his native Canada, De Vos remains unsure as to whether to prolong his four-year stay at Portman Road. His final act at the club could be to lead them back into the top flight, but he insists that even achieving promotion may not be enough to tempt him into staying.

Confirmation

"It doesn't matter whether Ipswich are in the Premier League, which I hope they are, or the Championship," he told the Evening Star. "This will not influence my decision either way. "What I can confirm is that if I do carry on playing next season it will be for Ipswich Town."
