Santiago Canizares, David Albelda and Miguel Angel Angulo are back in the running to play for Valencia.

Valencia outcasts back in contention

Valencia's new coach Salvador 'Voro' Gonzalez has confirmed that outcasts Santiago Canizares, David Albelda and Miguel Angel Angulo will be considered for selection. The trio were surprisingly axed by former coach Ronald Koeman, who was unsurprisingly axed himself following the weekend's humiliating 5-1 loss to Athletic Bilbao. Many fans were left baffled by Koeman's decision to omit the experienced players from his squad, so they will be pleased the players will rejoin their team mates from Wednesday after being forced to train in isolation. With Valencia just two points clear of third from bottom Recreativo Huelva, Voro doubts whether there is enough time left in the season for the trio to make an impact.

They'll play

"The three players form part of the 25-man first team squad and are like any other of the players. If I think they are ready to play, they'll play," confirmed the club's new coach. "They haven't had a game for four months and we are playing for our lives in a very short space of time. "In addition to not having played, there also is their state of mind to consider because they have gone through a difficult situation. But I will pick them if I think they can contribute to the team. "But I don't want a sporting decision to be interpreted as a political one. I want to be very clear on this issue."
