Mexican stopper considers future

PSV Eindhoven star Carlos Salcido has admitted he would like to move to the Premier League. The impressive Mexican defender is currently back in his homeland on holiday after the Dutch season ended with PSV retaining their title. Salcido has attracted a great deal of attention in recent months with Spanish sides Atletico Madrid, Sevilla and Valencia all said to be keen. Arsenal and Wigan have also been credited with an interest and Salcido admits he has heard about possible interest. "There are some rumours," he told Radio Comunicador. "But the truth is that for the moment there hasn't been a strong approach, only rumours. "At the moment I am on my holidays and having a rest. "My agents are in charge of any negotiations or conversations, I only have to wait for them to bring me news. It would be nice to have good news and real news, not just speculation."

Challenge

Salcido confirmed his liking for the Premier League and La Liga. "I very much like English football, it's a personal challenge for me [to get there]," he said. "Spanish football is also good so I will have to wait. "I have always said that PSV has treated me very well and I am very thankful to everyone in Holland so I want to see what happens in the future." Meanwhile, one defender who is definitely staying at PSV is Rens van Eijden. The 20-year-old - who is yet to make his league debut - has signed a new three-year contract.
