Bluebirds yet to decide on Fowler and Hasselbaink

Trevor Sinclair and Michael Oakes are among five players to have been released by Cardiff. Former England international Sinclair has struggled with injuries since moving to Ninian Park and made just 16 starts this season, while goalkeeper Oakes fell down the pecking order after appearing 11 times. Matt Green, Matt Smith and David Forde are also out of contract and have been informed their futures lie elsewhere. Veteran strikers Robbie Fowler and Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink could yet follow, with talks still ongoing over whether the Bluebirds will extend their one-year deals. A club statement read: "There are ongoing negotiations between Hasselbaink and Fowler which may or may not mean an offer being made." Meanwhile, Riccardo Scimeca 'is expected to extend his stay at the club' after being offered a new deal, while Jon Brown has been offered a professional contract.
